Crazy, wonder how long this one will last
The gist I got was that the Project 2025 people are running the show now and have a plan in place to make it go on indefinitely:

I don't see how gutting "democratic agencies" and then blaming Democrats is a winning strategy though. Perhaps that's why they are encouraging Trump to take a back seat so that they can cut agencies w/o coming across as partisan?

They are trying to do the European playbook (they targeted Trump districts with tariff responses) but since Republicans are in charge of closing agencies winners/losers, I don't see how they come across as blameless. It's like an abusive husband saying "Look what you made me do" after he beats his wife.

i mean, let's be honest. the average american's reaction to government shutdowns is :unimpressed:

only thing to really do here is paint trump as a fake negotiator, who can't negotiate shit
