anyone from new York on here can you answer this? I noticed besides bleek, Jay didn’t have any other major artists from newyork he put on the roc why is that? He had a ton of Philly artists though! Why didn’t he sign fabolous? Etc no underground artists getting play during that time?

He did have other New York artist, but they didn’t pan it out. Major coins didn’t work out , and I think Amil was from Jersey sad she didn’t work out. He was supposed to have big L but he died. He had Geeta G or something like that but he never dropped the album same thing with ODB and MOP. All the Philly people were signed because of Beans. once they heard him, they liked the energy coming out of Philly at that time.. Keep in mind that the Harlem cats that came with Dame Dash did a lot of of the picking and choosing or who was gonna be signed to Rockafella.

Yeah, that’s him. The RANJAHZ we are supposed to be part of Rocafella , in fact, one of them is Jay‘s cousin. I think Dame was too hard to get along with though.
